Minimum Requirements:

  • Grade 12 with a secretarial qualification
  • Computer literacy (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Internet & E-mail)
  • Excellent office management, leadership and analytical skills
  • Ability to demonstrate resilience and to function effectively under pressure
  • Knowledge of and interpretation of legislative framework, service delivery, imperatives and implementation thereof
  • Ability to understand and observe protocol
Core Responsibilities:
  • Facilitate and co-ordinate activities between members of the Mayoral Committee, Portfolio Councillors, City Manager, Head of Departments, other members of management as well as other relevant internal and external stakeholders
  • Manage the office, diary and logistical arrangements of the office of the City Manager
  • Make sound judgment on matters that are highly sensitive in nature and handle responsibly
  • Arrange and co-ordinate meetings, workshops, campaigns and events
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive filing system for the office
  • Manage financial resources and submit periodic reports in the office of the City Manager
  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders on matters of service delivery and political mandates
  • Assist the City Manager manage and monitor outputs, workflow and office deadlines
