Mining Group is looking for a Human Resources Practitioner for their
facility in Steelpoort. Manning & Employee Relations will be the
focus area.
Minimum qualifications:
Degree or Technikon Diploma
Valid Certificate of Fitness and First aid
Purpose of the job:
To implement and manage HR processes.
Balanced Scorecard Pillars, Roles and Responsibilities:
SAFETY, HEALTH, ENVIRONMENT AND QUALITY
•
Identify and assess level of continuous risk exposures in area of
responsibility by considering exposures to business, financial, legal
issues, people, equipment, material, environment, processes, etc.
•
Consider the level of risk, apply mitigation and implement control
measures for residual risk (set objectives, minimum requirements, etc.)
• Participate and comply with
SHEQ requirements (SHEQ Toolbox)s
CUSTOMERS
Customer Relations:
• Interact with customers and familiarise yourself with operational concerns and any inherent peculiarities (e.g. IR issues)
• Ensure customer satisfaction
Suppliers Relations:
• Liaise with HR suppliers
BUSINESS PROCESSES
HR Legislation:
• Comply with the relevant HR Legislation (Labour Relations Act, EE Act, Skills Development Act, etc.)
• Provide information and advice regarding legislation that may impact employment issues
Organisation Development:
• Implement Organisational Development initiatives as required
Industrial Relations:
• Ensure compliance by all parties to the Disciplinary Code and Legislation at disciplinary/grievance hearings
• Take minutes of proceedings at disciplinary/grievance hearings
• Assist with first line IR related problems in area of responsibility
• Facilitate the resolution of employee grievances
• Compile IR statistics
• Assist with counselling sessions
• Conduct conciliations at the CCMA
Employee Wellness:
• Coordinate the EAP processes in area of responsibility
• Conduct Voluntary Confidential Counselling & Testing (VCCT) (two yearly)
• Coordinate with the clinics regarding the treatment of all HIV positive employees
Climate and Culture:
• Coordinate Corporate Climate and Culture survey
• Drive implementation of Corporate action plan
Organisational Values:
• Ensure initiatives at Corporate regarding Organisational Values
Recruitment and Selection:
• Draft recruitment adverts for corporate vacancies in the prescribed media
• Conduct the candidate search and coordinate the screening process
• Receive, filter and distribute CV’s to the recruitment panel
• Update the Recruitment Tracker
• Compile summary of applicants and forward to Line Manager for short-listing purposes
• Compile interview packs and conduct recruitment interviews
• Conduct checks and verifications of candidate credentials
• Arrange the Assessments / feedback to candidates
• Coordinate medical examinations
Induction and orientation:
• Coordinate medical examinations
• Coordinate the Induction and Orientation processes
• File all appropriate documentation
• Arrange IDP for successful applicants
Exit process:
• Prepare and conduct exit interviews (C Band and lower) and report findings
• Administer the employee exit processes and compile exit statistics
Manning:
• Ensure the timeous placement of trained employees to fill Business Plan complements.
• Ensure manning boards are allways kept updated
• Update labour summaries
Employee Retention:
• Compile Corporate employee turnover statistics (Monthly)
Education, Training and Development:
• Ensure that Individual Development Plans are in place and implemented for all employees
• Implement Skills Development Plan in area of responsibility
• Act as Skills Development Facilitator for Corporate (WSP, ATR, etc.)
• Analyse and report Training and Development statistics/metrics for the site
• Implement Literacy Training
Performance Management:
• Implement the Performance Management System for all Corporate employees
Talent Management:
• Complete Talent Management information for all Corporate employees
Bursary and Graduate Development Programme:
• Coordinate the Graduate Development Programme
• Coordinate vac work and in-service training
• Place successful students at business units
• Visit students annually and monitor progress
• Coordinate the Graduate Mentorship Scheme
• Visit Engineers In Training (Quarterly) and monitor progress
