JOB TITLE  : DIESEL MECHANIC

REQUIREMENTS

• Grade 12.
• Qualified Diesel / Petrol Mechanic.
• Computer literacy will be advantageous.
• Experience in Fault Finding, Preventative Maintenance, Engine Rebuilding, Brake and Air Systems.
• Experience in Forklift maintenance will be advantageous.
• Be able to work un-supervised yet produce high quality workmanship.
• Experience in the use of Diagnostic equipment will be advantageous.
• Must be prepared to work shifts and perform standby duties.
• 3 years working experience in a similar environment.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Perform preventative and corrective maintenance tasks on primarily Mercedes Benz & UD trucks and trailers but will also be required to work on Light Delivery Vehicles (LDVs) and forklifts.
• Perform standby duties, attend to breakdowns, do fault finding and carry out emergency repairs.
• Order spare parts, interpret spares and workshop manuals.
• Rebuild engines and gearboxes.
• Complete job cards and update vehicle records.
• Participate in Total Productive Maintenance, as well as Health and Safety responsibilities.
• Assist in stores duties.
