Minimum qualifications:

• Recognised relevant Trade qualification (section
13) is essential
OR
• Proof of recognised completed apprenticeship
contract (completed by means of effluxion of time)
AND NCT2 (relevant Trade Theory) qualification
is essential
Job-specific experience and requirements:
• Conveyor experience is essential
• A minimum of 3 years’ working experience as a
Serviceman is essential
• A valid medical certificate or medically fit to
obtain such a certificate
Other desirable requirements:
• Knowledge of the Health and Safety Act

Duties and responsibilities:

The successful candidate will be expected to:
• Attend to callouts with regard to electrical
breakdowns
• Maintain the fire prevention (Fogteq) system
• Identify, inspect and clean electrical machines
• Install and commission electrical measuring
instruments and control devices
• Inspect electrical main substations
• Undertake planned electrical maintenance
• Repair and maintain electrical power tools
• Maintain electrical conveyor safety systems
• Write technical reports
• Conduct on-the-job coaching
