Introduction :

  Read and interpret the Business Plan and allocated
resources accordingly

Minimum qualifications:
• Grade 12/Standard 10 is essential
• Blasting Certificate is essential
• Competent A & B is essential


Job-specific experience and requirements:

• Technical working knowledge with regard to
stoping, development, survey, equipping, explosives
and safety policies, procedures and regulations is
essential
• Knowledge with regard to mine standards, best
practices, risk management and operational
business objectives
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in trackless mining
is essential
• Valid Medical Certificate, or medically fit in order to
obtain such a certificate is essential
• Board and pillar experience is essential

Duties and responsibilities:

The successful candidate will be expected to:
• Read and interpret the Business Plan and allocated
resources accordingly
• Plan production targets and ensure measures to
achieve production targets
• Receive and convey instructions from Shaft
Management on work priorities
• Supervise crew responsible for installation and
maintenance in designated area underground
• Plan, organise, lead and control activities in the
mining operations process
• Coordinate drilling and blasting operations
• Mark shot and pilot holes for primary and
secondary blasting in an underground working
place
• Treat and remove misfires and charge shot holes
with primed explosives
• Support an underground working place by means
of anchors placed into drilled holes, elongated
support units that are hydraulic stressed and packs
• Transport material and equipment by means of a
mono rope system
• Conduct on-the-job coaching
